
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is when tissue similar to the uterus lining is found growing outside of the uterus. There can be a number of causes such as hormonal imbalance, inflammation, genetics to name a few. It can be diagnosed on symptoms but the only diagnostic test is a laparoscopy which is an invasive procedure. Common symptoms of Endometriosis include very painful periods or pain in the lead up to the period, lower back and leg pain, pain during intercourse and fertility problems.
Common symptoms:
Painful periods or pain around ovulation or before the period, depression, fertility problems, pain during intercourse, low back or leg pain, pain associated with bowel movements or urination.
